Welcome to my blog!

Thanks so much for dropping by my blog and taking a peak.  Now I never claim to know everything, or be perfect, or even being able to spell!  I work really hard to not only be a good photographer, but have a personal connection to my clients and understanding what they want (especially when they might not know).  In addition I love to help others improve their own pictures.  Let's face it...no one can afford a personal photographer to follow them around 24/7 (but if you do know someone give them my name!).

My blog has a collection of advise, current photo experiences and the personal updates.  My new 2012 series (TT- Tipsy Thursday) is a combo of all kinds of questions I've received, things I've seen & even those mistakes I've made in my years of shooting.  I'm ALWAYS in need to know what other people want to hear about, so please email me with ANY suggestions.  Again thanks for stoping by and hopefully you enjoy!

Ever format your memory card?  It's like a clean wipe for electronics.  It does delete any info so you want all the pictures off first.  Lots of cameras have an option on them to format your card.  I not only do this every other shoot but with my card reader I do a hard format that is done on my computer.  You right click on the card in my computer, select format and then click ok.  It will give you a warning most likely that this will delete all info...once again make sure you're not wanting any off the card!  I find this is like maintenance on your car or a virus scan on your computer...it's up keep and keeps my cards working their best.

Do you upload your pictures by connecting your camera to your computer or by using a card reader?  If you're going straight from your camera and you find it really slow consider a card reader.  They are rather inexpensive and connect to your usb drive like your cable for the camera.  With the work I do it's a must have!

Big tip when looking for a wedding photographer.  If you're getting a wedding album make sure it's not a cut and paste!  I was talking to someone at my bank and while I thought no photographer would ever dare to do a cut & paste album anymore...apparently I'm wrong.  She had to pick her proof to put in the album and then mail those to a 3rd party for them to GLUE into an album.  Insane!  One, these don't hold up as well as a printed book but two she had to mail it off to someone that had nothing to do with the wedding AT ALL!  Needless to say it also took her months to get the book back and it was sloppy & unprofessional.  Also, just because your photographer shows you a fabulous book, make sure you know that's the book your getting and what cost there might be to upgrade.
